Hi all - This is not a new question, but searching the archives gets me
hundreds of random responses that don't really answer it. I have a '92 900S
automatic (176,000 miles). I love it, period. I was looking at new cars a
couple of years ago and then lost my job -- frankly, I'm kind of glad I
didn't get rid of my SAAB. As expected, the age of the car is showing. I've
been replacing things slowly but surely as they go out -- probably spending
a couple of thousand per year over the past few years. I've replaced quite a
few things, which I won't list unless someone wants to know.
  Now I have about $5000 saved to put into the car -- or down on a new one.
I would love to be able to have a 'new' car via getting my SAAB running like
new. Is that possible? If so, how much can I expect to spend? I'm lucky to
have a wonderful independent SAAB mechanic in town -- he's not cheap by any
means, but he is honest and knows his SAABs. I'm not counting cosmetic work
right now -- I've take care of it and it's been garaged most of its life, so
it looks good. The interior can wait.
