Rust under carpet - brake line related
Last modified: Apr 28, 2012

what is this? looks like something rubber falling out of the floor pan! passenger side front.

aftermarket cat (iirc, bosal) doesn't fit too well in the heat shield. Had to lower it to prevent rattles!

what is the circular impression in the body? is it rubber? same as the bit hanging in the other photo. drivers side.

rust in a weld under passenger side rear seat

Bosal vs Magnaflow. Note the magnaflow is quite a bit narrower. The bosal was almost impossible to align to avoid rattling against the heat shield!

Rust Check vs missed spot!
Rust Check vs not: can see the bracket for the mount, never sprayed previously, is rusting + the rest is fine!

Rust Check sills
They drill holes, spray inside the body, then plug.

Rustcheck hood
Oily film everywhere is the downside. Upside, paint still in awesome shape after decades.

Rustcheck door
Again, plugs top and bottom, they spray inside the door. Saab has a plug there in the middle for the same purpose, but I guess they can access more better with the 2 holes.

Jigsaw vs O2 sensor
sawed from inside out to remove it (crushing with vice grips helped). Absolutely hate removing these, as with all the corrosion from road salt, moisture, and thermal cycling, they are nearly impossible to break loose!

Sedan rust, trunk
Moisture under the rubber seal caused rust. Removed the seal, prepped and coated in POR15. This part is hidden, so I just reinstalled the seal without top coating the POR. The metal under the seal had never been oil sprayed.
