Hello,
I have found this issue usually to be corrosion on the battery terminals or the cables themselves. When you kick on the AC the idle is raised before the compressor or the fans are engergized. When just the one fan kicks on the idle is reacting after the fact. I don't know if it just happens too slow due to a little voltage loss or if it just uses enough amperage to effect running. I don't know if just cleaning the grounds in the normal spots will do anything or not. It doesn't make the most sense but it's been working for me for decades. Good Luck, Bernie
