This happened to me a couple of times. You will need to take it to the dealer to turn off the light. It is probably a vapor lock in your fuel system caused by closing the gas cap tight enough (turn it until it clicks) after you fueled the car. The vapor lock is gone, but the computer stores the fault so that a mechanic can fix it if it is a major problem. The other cause (in my case) was a bad Oxygen sensor. My car stalled a lot; yours does not. I would assume that it was the vapor lock. It will not hurt the car to drive it with the light on. Good Luck.
