Does your 900S have a turbine at all? They did not in the US in that year, and I'm not up to speed on the European spec cars. I believe the Turbo engines have a lower compression ratio than the non-turbos (may not be true with the "low pressure turbine" engines), which probably means different pistons. The intercooler cools the air after it's heated by the turbine, so it becomes a bit denser and helps prevent premature pinging. It helps add power. -- John R.
