OK, my '85 900 8v needs tires. My tentative plan is to buy snow tires and have them mounted on my current rims. Then come spring buy new rims and new tires. This sounded like a solid gameplan until I went surfing for tire info at which time fear and loathing set in. 195/65 R15 were on the car when I got it, but the owners manual says I should have 185/65 R15. Should I buy replacements that are the same as what I have or as what the manual says? Will deviating from the manual cause problems in general and specifically the speedometer? Knowing that I may set off a holy war and knowing that I could be disowned by some of the purist Saab enthusiasts I was looking at Goodyear, Firestone, or Yokohama. The reason for this is a combination of price vs. performance, though mostly price. Any thoughts pro or con, positive or negative, sympathetic or critical, etc.? Nutmeggar, don't hold back your rapier-like wit! Regards, Simon. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
