Scott, Performance of the stock 9-5 LPT four is okay, at best, although your experience in temperature changes seems odd. The car, performance-wise is comparable to the '86 9000T I once owned, but the 9-5 is so much quieter inside. I've tried out a 9-5 with the Abbott box and the sport exhaust, and it felt great! Near-Aero power levels and a great sound from the exhaust. The car it was in belonged to Abbott's USA west coast vendor, and it had 35k+ miles on it, and seemed to feel as tight as new. The engine and drivetrain should be able to handle the added power and torque handily, although you're probably not going to get an extra 150 lb/ft... maybe 50 lb/ft ;-) Paul '93 9000 Aero
