They have a cleaner and conditioner that work really well on old and new leather. Available from several on-line accessory places, and some auto parts stores. I do think there was a change from the older 'classic' 900's to the newer ones; the leather in my '92 is very different from that in my '85. In the '85 there's a flap on the front headrests that says "Connolly", but there's no such indicator on the '92. Don't know about the 9-3's, but the 9-5 I test drove felt like the softer leather from the '85 again.
