Subject: Central locking failure and seemingly flat battery on '97 900

I've just returned from holiday and went to start up the trusty 1997 900XS 2.0. Turning the key in the drivers door to unlock I found that only the drivers door unlocked - central locking had failed. Key into the ignitiion and tried to start her up - wouldn't even turn over. All the usual lights were on - clock was bang on as usual; no warning messages on the display. The "Lock" button for the central locking seemed to be trying to lock the doors but to no avail. The electric windows and all other electrical circuits seemed to be OK. Having got the car going on jumpleads and letting it run for a while everything seems OK. I switched the 900 off and started it again no problem. Could this have been some sort of electrical short on the driver's door central locking causing a drain when I went to start up?
