Subject: Check engine light and ECM

The Check Engine light on my 1997 9000 CSE came on. The dealer said it was the oxygen sensor and replaced it. The light came on again. The delaer cleared it. It came on again and I decided to go for a new ECM. Dealer didn't get the ECM in (although I think the old one was taken out an put back in) because Saab sent the wrong part. Now the Check Engine light has gone out of its own accord. Car was running a little rough periodically, and mileage seemed to plummet, but now everthing seems normal. What does this all mean? Also, dealer wants $1,000 for new ECM and if I want to keep the old one, Saab wants another $450 (apparently it remanufactures them). Seems like a real rip off. Is there cheeper source for these parts?
