Look at the money they make now. PERFECT EXAMPLE! Saab is in its AMF years now! And Harley Davidson isn't so much a motorcycle company anymore... it's more of a PRODUCT. A Wall Street success story. A copyright. Want Harley socks? They got 'em! Harley beer? Harley cigarettes? Yummy. Nothing spells success more than a sell-out! Are Harleys "better" now than they were in the AMF years? Possibly. At least the new parts MADE IN JAPAN seem to work well! But look at the tired styling of a Harley.... even these weekend warriors (ie: lawyers & doctors who TOW their shiny boring generic HDs to events like the Redwood Run) aren't buying that non-descript Heritage Softail anymore! It's passe'.... OLD.... useless. The HDs of the AMF years.... some of those were designed by Aerrmacchi.... THEY had style! Nowadays.... a new Harley is just another slow-paced Winnebago. So I guess....... well.... you know. BL -- 1983 Saab 900 Turbo
