There seems to be something with Saab brakes. On the three Saab I have owned ('85 900, '85 900 Turbo, '88 9000) they seem to be overly expensive an poorly designed. On my '85, I had the front caliper replaced four times at three different shops because they froze up. I used rebulids and new and they always seem to go early. The last rebuild, the new front right froze up and chewed the rotor to hell. The warrentee covered the labor, caliper and pads, but I had to pay for the rotor. My '86 required a recent total replacement and the new Saab brake calipers lasted three days before a seal poped on the left caliper while driving home. Ever have to stop and pushed the brake pedal to the floor with no results? The 9000 was always dealer maintained, and in the 6 years we had it, it went through at least three rotor sets and two calipers sets on the front brakes alone. In comparison, my Pontiac Parrisiene wagon only had the front brakes rebuilt (excluding regular maint) twice in twelve years I drove it, and the first was do to a recall. My fiancee's Honda Civic was twenty years old and had three total rebuilds on its front brakes in the 12 years she owned it. Her mothers 13 year old Plymouth Voyager is the same way. Jeremy
