If the cleaning cycle occurs on a cylinder with the inlet valve open and mixture in the cylinder it can backfire big time. This happened to me when I had a dodgy IAC valve and partially flooded it. I asked my wife to turn off the ignition while I was messing with the IAC. Result? I almost lost my eyebrows as it blew out one of the vacuum hoses from the manifold and burnt a hole in the insulation on the false bulkhead!!! Toby
