LPT also have a lower compression ratio, 9:1 instead of 10:1 for the non-turbo model. I'm surprised that you say there is no knock knock sensor? Are you sure? Some modern cars even have a knock sensor without a turbo. IMO the knocksensor is wired to the APC which controls the turbo. The APC may a stand-alone box or it may be part of the Trionic system. I only have Haynes manual, which is not very much. Johannes
