I've spent 4 yrs salivating after 9-3 cabrios and finally now joined the club by getting a 2000 2.0T. When I sat in it to drive it home I thought - what the fuck have I done getting this cavernous car? (after my previous Vauxhall Astra conv). Elegant and quite cosseting but I always thought you Saabos gloat too much about your marque, and still do. 9-3s are ergonically fine, visually great, but famous for poor wobbly handling. The cabrios definitely need replacing - fast. Embarassingly rattly beside latest BMWs and Audis. Even the coupes aren't too tough. Here in London every other convo on the road is a Saab (UK is the world's second biggest cabrio market) - hardly exclusive, if it ever was. I get a lot of admiring glances at the silver/beige leather/blue hood car, surprisingly enough. Little do they know how I'm shook up inside it - like being dragged along the road on your arse. Still - can put up with it for a few years. Next I'll look at Alfa Romeo, or even Porsche Boxster if I can afford it. Kojo
