I just had my cable replaced after it snapped leaving me stranded. I've got 45K EXACTLY (my car's a '97) My mechanic told me this is very common on this make. I think the problem is deeper, however, as my car has always been tricky getting into reverse and now, shifting between first and second is sometimes loose. I noticed that after being replaced, the clutch is much, much "higher" than the original. I bought this car new, so, obviously I'm concerned. I am suspecting a cylinder problem perhaps?
