This used the same gearbox (different bell-housing, I seem to recall), but replaced the cable actuator for the clutch with the vacuum actuated mechanism, basically "If you're touching the gearshift lever, you want the clutch pushed in so I'll do it for you". I don't know the Rover system, but the pre-selected gear thing sounds interesting; how did it know if you were about to up-shift, or down-shift? Dave
