Look, I've been offroading for YEARS and can tell you that you ned narrower tires in the snow AND that you also shoud have higher tire pressure to all the tireto bite and as prevoiusly been said to shake off the snow. You 'air down' to gain off road t raction by making the tire more compliant - that wiill work to some degree on snow but that is not a good strategy if you have already put on snow tires and done a -1 or -2 conversion. As for smaller rims, the is tire aspect ratio, not rim size per se - a 45 aspect ratio tire, like the 17" on the '02 Sport pkg will skate all over the snow and ice, while going up to 65 aspect ratio in a 15" wheel will work better - you alse need to main whel/tire diameter as close to the same so you need a narrower tire with a bigger aspect ratio on a smaller wheel to get the same tire height and therefore tire diameter and speedometer / odometer will remain accurate. . . .
