Hi Craig, On the Saab 9000 Climate Control system, (ACCII) you can specify the startup defaults for the system by pressing a combination of buttons on the facia panel. I am not familiar with the Viggen ACC panel, so I don't know whether the above document will be helpful or not. HTH, Tim.
