Thanks for the heads up about the amp. I remember seeing it hiding down there last year when I replaced all the upholstery. Anymore, the CD player skips if I run over a footprint and has stopped playing any track above #5. I've sent the units away to Clarion twice now for reconditioning, so it just feels like it's time to go ahead and replace them. Actually, the biggest concern I had was how I would make use of the space left by the CD player. I don't know of any system that combines a tape/CD player into two separate units with a single master volume control, meaning that I'll probably end up replacing the existing tape player with a CD player. So what fills the space of the existing CD player? An equilizer perhaps? Any installation work will have to be done at the shop. I'm very comfortable with mechanics but ever since I shorted out the entire Lucas electical system on my 1957 TR3, electronics give me the willies...
