I can vouch for this - unleaded (95 RON) is around 72 pence per litre and Super (98 RON) is around 79p per litre. I can't really complain, since prices have fallen by around 10p per litre and stayed there for well over a year. My average fill-up is around 30 UKP and lasts me around 350 miles. My 900i runs just fine on standard unleaded, but turbos really do need super octane. The boost is held for longer and higher boost is achieved - period (to use an American turn of phrase). For anyone in the UK, don't bother with Optimax in your classic - it's great for the first tank, but a needs about 2-3 tanks of super to get back to the same performance as before using it. Personally, I'm not too bothered about US fuel prices - they have other taxes to contend with, no NHS (who I work for ... thank you), poor state pensions and so on. I think we have it okay this side of the Atlantic. <philosophy> Here in the UK, why did we spend the first three-quarters of the twentieth century developing the world's best health-care system, education system and welfare state and then spend the last quarter complaining about how poor all three were? </philosophy> Paul 1985 Saab 900i 16V 1989 Saab 900 Turbo S http://pjgh.go.dyndns.org/saab/index.html 1992 Hyundai S Coupe MVi http://pjgh.go.dyndns.org/hyundai/index.html
