I hope not. Most CDs do not take well to washing. There may seem to be no damage; but damp which gets between the layers of plastic can corrode the metallisation. This IIRC is what kills many CDs eventually. > A simple soap and water cleanup can often do wonders. Dry with > a soft towel. Let them air dry completely before reinserting in > the changer. I am trying not to cringe at the thought. Honest, boss. Gentlest way to clean a CD, AFAIK, is to breath on the silvered surface, so as to "fog" it. Then wipe the disk RADIALLY (ie, out from centre to periphery) with a soft clean lintless fabric (eg, soft kitchen towel). Repeat as necessary. Allow surface to air- dry. (If the disk is greasy, of course, you may need to _dampen_ the fabric with our old friend isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol).) -- Andrew Stephenson
