The temperature gauge isn't wrong. It just measures the water temperature, which warms very quickly. Your engine block and motor oil haven't at that time. So you have to wait untill your engine oil, and your engine block with it, have reached operating temperature. Unfortunately, unless you have an oil temperature gauge, you can't see when that is. I'm wondering, wouldn't an oil temperature gauge be enough? If your cooling system wouldn't be able to cope, you would also see raised oil temperatures in the proces, right? -- Mager
