Hell yeah Tom, I think we have the best public transport service in the world ... and I've used it a lot as a schoolboy, college student and during my early working life. Our trains are crap, but that's getting better and I will always maintain that our local bus services are second to none. The bus on my road runs every 10 minutes during the day between Halifax and Bradford (two major centres). Many of our cities also have restored tram services and we even get canal "buses" in the summer. Our road and fuel tax does contribute greatly to the economy, since the Tories destroyed practically every national industry we had. Mind you under the Labour government before them, the industries practically destroyed themselves. I don't really mind the fuel tax, but I do have a grievance with tobacco and alcohol taxes :) Paul 1985 900i 16V 1989 900 Turbo S http://pjgh.go.dyndns.org/saab/index.html
