Subject: bypass valve for saab 900LPT

Hi I just noticed my compressor bypass valve (CBV) has gone bad. This valve returns the air to the turbo compressor inlet for reuse. I would like to replace it with one that vents the pressurised air directly to atmosphere.(blow off valve,BOV ??) Question is can I do this. There are some WWW-sites stating that this would confuse the air mass meter(AMM) when you let the once measured air out of the system. A friend of mine told me that I shouldn't mind that, because the valve works only in a transient situation and in transient situation the AMM is ignored by the ECU which uses instead fixed control information stored in it's PROM. Has enybody used a BOV with a LUCAS ECU? some tech. details of my car SAAB 900 -92 ECU:LUCAS CU14, with BSR CHIP AMM: LUCAS (not hot wire type as far as I know) TURBO: Mitsubishi te05 no APC unit CHARGE set using a BLEEDER to 0.8 bar (originally 0,4) standard saab 900 IC (added) JR-filter O_P
