The Jiffy Lubes will tell you every 3000 miles. The car manufacturer will tell you every 5000 miles. The oil companies will tell you 5000 miles plus because their oil is so great. I suspect that you can probably go more than it says but if you do change it every 3000 miles, you would at least be on the safe side. Typically, I've change my oil every 3000 miles, give or take. If I run over, I don't really worry about it too much. I just sold my 1979 Buick LeSabre with 135K on the clock and it barely uses about 1 to 1.5 pints between oil changes. (5k) It was always changed around 3-5k. Just my experience, but I don't really know what the 'truth' is. Wouldn't it be a drag to find out it we only needed to do it every 10k? Doh! Brandon
