Fluid was a little low, but having topped it up, some 3 weeks later it hasn't moved level. Oil and water were also a little low, so topped them, and nothing has changed since. gearbox was upto the max level, and hasn't changed. Before I get to the Next MOT, I'm going to give it a full going over, oil, plugs, rotor, cap, oil filter, transmission change, and maybe a cleanable cone filter instead of the standard air box (currently part way through replacing all the vac hoses with Silicon). What is the best oil to use in the transmission? And are their any alternatives to the best weight to use? I heard it was 10w30 same as the engine, but the engine is running fully synth, and 10w30 synth (infact I don't recall seeing 10w30 dino either) is a bit hard to get hold of round here, so when I change the engine oil I plan to use 5w40 (listed as a better choice replacement) synth in the engine, and wonder what I would use in the box. -- Carl Robson The poster formally known as Skodapilot. http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
