How long has Saab been making/using this engine? I believe it has been in use at roughly the same HP/Torque since the Saab 9000 models. The 2.3L engine has been used for some time, and the light pressure and high output versions of this engine have been made for some time (10 years +?) All Turbo engines tend to wear out a bit faster than naturally aspirated engines - but if you are the owner of a new car - you should be able to make it last well over 100,000 miles without a lot of fuss. 300,000 miles is not unheard of. We just bought a 9-5 Aero Wagon and couldn't be happier with it. Given the longevity of the 9000 Aero that came before it, I think we didn't end up in the "guinea pig" class of buyers.
