They should have checked for a cracked cylinder head when they replaced the head gasket the first time. That's often a result of extreme overheating. I'd raise hell about it and make them pay for all the labor for doing it again. A leaking head gasket would lead to slow loss of coolant. If the weather is cooler, you'll see white steam coming out of the exhaust. It sounds more like a blown gasket than a leak. I've run cars for thousands of miles with leaking gaskets. I wouldn't recommend it, however. A gasket is a piece of cork or other flexible material that enables a tight seal between the engine head and the block which are made of inflexible material. It keeps the oil and antifreeze in their proper chambers. Picture one of those old fashioned canning jars where there's a glass lid that fits by a wire on the base. Glass to glass is a poor seal, so you stick a rubber ring on to serve as a seal between the two glass surfaces. The rubber ring is a gasket. lauraknopsamousergraphics.com http://www.madmousergraphics.com web design, print design, photography
