I think he'd have the problem when starting to drive (as in "your roof is not properly latched" ) if that were the case, not when attempting to retract the roof. >2) Have you got anything in your boot which is obstructing the area where >the roof folds into? That gives me a "check trunk" message in my '97 900 'vert, not "check latches". The latch switches are located in the windshield support. The chrome pins that come down from the roof latches push them down a little when the roof is latched. I'd guess that one of them has not sprung up into position. Pull the roof open and the front manually a little bit and peer into the holes. One switch is probably stuck down. You could also have other computer related problems.
