(It was Mobil 1 if that makes a > difference) Well, the good news is that the bottom end will be just fine. The bad news is your turbo's fried, and you may have damaged the camshaft + bearings. At the very least you're going to need to replace the turbo bearings (that whine won't get better). You may or may not need to do some work on the head - that remains to be seen. BTW, that noise you were hearing was the hydraulic lifters run dry. There may also have been some chain slap, since the hydraulic chain tensioner would have also run dry. -- Grunff
