Is this a poor quality issue unique to OZ ? What's it's spec meant to be ? Unfortunately our fuel quality is variable. ULP is supposed to be min 91ron but its not unknown for unscrupulous petrol station operators to "contaminate" the fuel with other substances. A friend recently had to spend approx $1500.00 to repair the fuel system on his 1994 Fairlane after getting some dodgy fuel. Its generally safer to buy fuel from the major brand retailers eg Shell but thats still no 100% guarantee. Most engines will run fine of ULP but I think the small extra cost of PULP is worth it as insurance for an expensive hi performance engine. You could buy a new Commodore or Falcon for the money it would cost to rebuild a MB V12 engine in Australia so IMO saving a few cents on fuel is very poor long term economy. Daryl
