Driver's side rear passenger (US spec)
The wiring bundle comes in at the base of the footwell so you need to get under the carpet. When the dealer replaced the wheel sensor they stated if problem returned the fault was probably in the wiring junction. But I never knew where to look until now. Last modified: Jul 23, 2014 |
Pull up door sill
Remove the rear seat and use a flat screwdriver to gently pull up door sill. Prop up carpet. Last modified: Jul 22, 2014 |

Wiring

One wheel wires
The wires from one wheel are brown connecting to white/brown stripe and black to black/white stripe. Last modified: Aug 3, 2014 |
Other rear wheel wires

Crimp connection
When I cut open the connector, this shows the copper wire crimped to the silver wire. This is where corrosion or oxidation may be causing resistance to the current especially in hot weather. Heat increases resistance to current flow in wire. Last modified: Jul 22, 2014 |
Splice
I cut out the hard black junction insulator and spliced, soldered and heat shrink wrapped the wires together with red insulated copper stranded wire. Last modified: Jul 23, 2014 |

Rebundle

Finished
