SAAB CARS USA, INC. APPOINTS DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
Saab PR team also broadens reach with new western region representative
NORCROSS, Ga.--Kevin Smith has been named Director of Corporate Communications at Saab Cars USA, Inc., distributor of Saab 9-3 and 9-5 automobiles.
In this position he will be responsible for the strategic development and management of communication policies and public relations programs in the U.S., as well as for the coordination of PR activities in Mexico and Canada.
Smith, 38, returns to Saab after a one-year assignment as Assistant Director of Communications at Cadillac. Since joining Saab in 1987, he has held a wide array of positions and responsibilities in the areas of customer relations, vehicle distribution, field management in sales, service and parts and training. Prior to the assignment at Cadillac, he was Manager of Public Relations at Saab. Smith attended the University of California, Irvine where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
"Kevin brings a wealth of experience from both his professional and personal activities in the automotive business and world," said Dan Chasins, president and COO of Saab Cars USA, Inc. "Beyond his extensive professional experience, Kevin also raced cars for several years and he is currently restoring two vintage automobiles. I think cars are really part of his DNA."
Saab has expanded its PR presence by naming Dan Prescott as its Western Region PR representative. Prescott, now based in Southern California, has worked at Saab's Norcross headquarters since 1994, in both the PR and marketing departments.
At Saab Cars USA, Inc., Smith and Prescott join Steve Janisse, Product Communications Manager and Tiffany Cook, Media and Internal Communications Specialist.
