I'm a confused Saab owner. Just paid a ton of money for 65000 mile service maintenance at dealership service center for 1994 Saab 9000 CSE turbo. Also needed new center muffler, and front and rear brake pads and rotor work. The dealership quote on the muffler and brake work was higher than at independent Saab/Volvo mechanics who do supposely authorized manufacturers work and use authorized parts. So I took the car to the indie for the brake and muffler work. New parts listed on the invoice state 82-92 9000 Turbo Cntr Muffler (hey, mine's a 1994; is this the wrong part, or is the part the same--only the name has been changed). Also front pads are listed as 88-->9000T, and front rotor as 9000 T 88; again, seems to be wrong year. Problem? Interestingly, the indie also replaced the serpentine belt B234, that the dealership left on as okay--the belt taken off and given to me looks like it has a thousand cracks in it. Shouldn't the dealership have done this, or is that just the way the belt looks (the cracks are on the ribbed portion, the flat part of the belt looks okay). Is somebody jerking me around, or are these insignificant variances? Please email chadreevnopsamcom. Thank you.
