It has a lousy shifter, terrible clutch, spotty reliability and won't be the equal of handling to the other two. It's only real advantage is it's cargo bay. How do I know this? I worked for the dealer for six years. The VR6 GTI is a nice car, though the standard suspension is a bit soft. The plus here is there are scads of aftermarket parts to fix the suspension, shifter, horsepower (like you'd need more) and so on. A much better choice. Sadly, I must select the Acura as the best choice. Wonderful engine, nice shifter, acceptable suspension, asian reliability. While it won't have the personality of the other two, it's a great car for someone inclined to change rides due to boredom after three or four years. You may also want to look into the BMW 318ti, though the rwd may not suit you depending on where you live. The service is probably less than that of the Saab, so don't let that scare you. -- Dwight Varnes Life is too short to drive a 70 Fiat 124 Spider minivan.
