SAAB is Svenska Aeroplan-Aktiebolaget, that is Swedish Airplane Ltd. SAAB was from the start during WW2 an airplane factory. Only later, when peace had come, they started to bulid cars too. There are still airplanes built by SAAB, but the original company is split up now. The cars are built by SAAB Automobile AB, which is 50 % owned by General Motors and 50 % by the Swedish company Investor AB. Elias Granqvist
