Although not normally a saab head, I was browsing this newsgroup and thought I may add my .02 to this posting. It seems as though you transmission filter is plugged, or your pump is bad. The first course of action (and certainly the least expensive ) would be to drain the fluid and replace it with a high quality synthetic. (cold temp flowability) (I am not unknowledgeable about SAABs, in fact just helped a friend put a transmission in his 900 [hi larry!])
