My 87 9000 had a similar but less severe problem. It cost $1500 for the tranny and $400 to install. Saab covered the part for me but I had to pay installation (It was 4 years old and had over 60K). I thought that was a good deal since it was out of warranty. For you, however, Hellooo MasterCard....
