I have an 87 SPG also. Sweet running FAST car. > 1. The center vent never blows hot air, only outside air or A/C. It's a "feature" not a problem. It's so you can have nice fresh air blowing on your face so you can stay alert, that is to say...awake. > 2. how many miles on a fill up should I get 16 gallon tank x 27mpg=over 432. I figure I can get 400 safely. Your mileage may differ. > 3. Notice where the needle points when the car is off? This is atmospheric pressure. Anything to the left is a vacuum, while anything to the right is pressure in excess of atmospheric. If it's in the middle of the gauge at idle i'd say you have a vacuum leak, a bad one. When the turbo kicks in it damned well better go into the yellow, in fact up to the red. Into the red is bad. > 4. and finally, I was told that the apc system does not need to be changed If it was functioning fine before the new turbo I can't see why it would need to be replaced. > I am always on top of any problem with my Saab and this is my second one, I > don't trust the mechanics in new york, I've been through 4 of them and they > were all shaky.
