Subject: Gas Smell on interior of '80 900

I have a 1980 900 that has a very strong gas smell inside the car. I recently bought it so am not so familiar w/symptoms of them. I recently ran some fuel injector cleaner through it and am worried that perhaps when it "cleaned" the fuel system it dislodged something that was plugging a hole in the fuel line or something. My mileage has dropped significantly in town compared to the highway (14 mpg as opposed to 27) could a leaky fuel system be the problem? Is this normal? Also, the other day when I filled it up, I overfilled it and some gas spilled out. The back passenger window doesn't close completely, and I thought that maybe air was simply leaking in there and there were gas fumes in it. Ideas, questions, or comments are greatly appreciated.
