The APC box in a Saab 900/9000 Turbo controls the maximum boost pressure. From the factory, this is set at somewhere between 10 and 13 psi (~ .7 and .9 bar) which is what Saab considered to be safe for this car. This "upgraded" APC box is an old trick, Group6 here in the states, Abbott Racing in the U.K., and Nordic UHR in Sweden (I think) all do the same thing - they adjust the APC box to increase the maximum boost pressure it will allow. Usually, these increases will make the max boost between 15 and 20psi (1 and 1.4 bar). That should be good for 30hp or so... Quite frankly, I wouldn't pay someone to modify an APC box. Do a search on The Saab Network or post a message to Turbo! asking about this and I'm sure someone will be happy to tell you how to do it yourself, so you can save your money for rebuilding the transmission. In summary: It's an easy thing to do yourself, so paying someone would be a waste. But, I wouldn't do it unless you've got $$$ to burn, because more power=earlier replacement of things like turbos and transmissions... -Justin
