One of the things that Saab Manchester are doing to my car (5th attempt to stop a noise) is to replace 'pinion bearings' in the gear box (engine out, two days in their workshop) which apparently often go at around the 90,000 mile mark in 9000s. It might be worth asking your nearest garage what worn pinion bearings sound like Pete Bennett petenopsam.net http://www.dsps.net petenopsamle.demon.co.uk http://www.diggle.demon.co.uk Mekon wrote in message <34cb53ad.0nopsam.mcmail.com>... >I have a '92 Saab 9000 S (manual) and there is a noise that's driving me >mad, and over the last year it's got worse.
