Subject: ? On Rear Quarter panel repair

We have (had) an 84 900T in near mint condition that my wife was in when it was hit broadside by a cabbie that ran a stop sign. the drivers side door, center post & rear quarter panel were pushed in rather bad. My question is I have been told by a local Saab guy that replacing a rear quarter panel is a major undertaking. Is this so? The cabbies insurance co is going to total the car because repair estimate at the body shop (non Saab place, car was towed there) is $4500-5500. The insurance co last offer was $4k & tax. thanks in advance, Rob
