Subject: -86 900 questions!

Hi! I recently bought a 1986 900i (which I beleive is called something else in the US but it's an 8-valve Bosch CI (according to the manual) fuel injected engine). The other day I noticed that when leaving the stick-shift in neutral (5 spd transmission) and raising the clutch there was a faint grinding-hissing noise coming from somewhere in the transmission area. Since then I've tried to do this a couple of times and have heard the noise about 50 percent of the times. Can this be a bearing in the transmission that is going bad or what? The clutch and transmission performes perfectly otherwise (clutch newly rebuilt according to previous owner). The car has got 170000 km (=106 k miles) on it. One more question: I am thinking of leaving the car to a certified Bosch mechanic to give the fuel injection system a service. The reason is that the car feels a little sluggish and takes quite a lot of fuel. Might this be a good idea, or should I try something else first (all filters (air, fuel, oil) are fresh)? I've also added STP Injection trim a couple of times when filling up. I would be grateful for any tips on these issues. /Johan P.S. Is there something to be done about flaky power windows (like greasing up) because two of mine needs help getting the window back up or do they need new motors.
