Thanks John and Michelle, I have a '92 900 that exhibits similar behaviour when the spark plugs need replacing. I have found that replacing the plugs once per year in late summer alleviates the problem of rough cold idle. I also have been losing antifreeze for the last year. Not quite as much as yours, more like 1 quart in three-four months. I cannot find any leaks, there is never any antifreeze on the garage floor, I never notice any odor and the oil is not contaminated. Its very mysterious, indeed. I've asked the dealer about this and they are clueless. I add a bottle of injector cleaner to the tank about every three months on all of my injected vehicles. Dont know if it does any good, but all the cars run very well. Tim. Response posted to AAS and emailed.
