I bent a wheel about a month after getting my '98 900 SE Turbo. Those 205/50 Pilots don't have much of a sidewall. I didn't even see the pothole 'til it was too late :( As far as Saab not covering your bent wheels after 25k miles, that's understandable. How are they to know that you weren't the victim of potholes and rough roads? If you want a stronger wheel, get steels with hubcaps... or move to a tire with a taller sidewal. My 255/50 tires on my Formula have a much larger sidewall and I've never had a problem with them. A 205/60 or similar size will give you a bit more sidewall, but throw your speedo off. >Lots of little annoying problems, plus the Saab costs more and runs >much worse than my Nissan Maxima (97). Saab engine is rough, >suspension is too firm off the highway (under 70 MPH). We looked at a Maxima SE 5spd before buying the Saab. They were comparable (Maxima a little less expensive), but my fiance didn't like the looks of the Maxima. The Saab 2.0 Turbo has more power than the 3.0 V6 of the Maxima (~5hp, methinks), but turbo lag makes the Maxima feel quicker off the line. I think the inline four is every bit as smooth as the V6 in the Maxima, too. I'm glad we got the Saab. We've had no problems in 10k miles and look forward to many more trouble free miles. I think the Saab is better built (IMO) and has a much better quality interior look and feel, especially the leather (again, IMO) :) >Good thing about it: big trunk! Definately!!! Even without folding the rear seats on our 900, it will swallow a lot of cargo. I wish the CD changer was a little better protected, tho. I'm always worried about cargo shifting and damaging it. -- Wayne Edelen - http://www.clark.net/pub/wayne 98 Saab 900SE Turbo 5spd 5dr (Silver/Charcoal)
