Subject: A Weird Outcome

--------------631CA26E3011DFFE17A2005B Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit The Blue Swede, lately rescued from a string of DPOs, just got new plugs and wires; a new cap & rotor, fuel filter, air filter, and O2 sensor; a shot of carb-cleaner in the old throttle valve and a wiping-off of the (filthy) injectors... Probably something else too that I'm forgetting. The old parts were all cruddy and/or obviously worn. But then, after all of that, she wouldn't start at all until I hooked up a new battery. Although she seems to have more power now, her idle is still a bit grumbly when cold, and there's still a bit of a lag between blipping the gas and seeing the revs jump. What can I do for her? She ran OK before, although fitfully when it was rainy. Now she runs... I suppose, pretty darned OK. Which is not quite where I was aiming. Can't figure out why renewing all those crusty electrical components would've made the ignition work less efficiently -- to the point where the battery was no longer adequate to provide decent spark. Any clues? --Gav.
