Today I hooked a 12V motor across the circuit instead of the fan motor, and it worked fine. I then cleaned the brushes in the fan motor and reconnected it, and it blew the fuse again. I then tried a 25 amp fuse instead of a 16 amp, and it ran, but I quickly disconnected it when the wires got warm. I would have thought that cleaning the motor would have worked...
