Subject: SAAB 9000 Auto problems

I purchased an '89 9000 Turbo with 88k on the clock and all seemed okay at the start but I began to notice slight problems with gear changes after about three months. Eventually, the auto box gave up the ghost in the centre of London when I lost all forward gears. I managed to get the car home (200 miles) and the box was diagnosed as having had all its seals go. I was told that it was a big job to replace all these things and that it would be cheaper to get a reconditioned box. The cost of the box and torque converter was a total of £1,000 (Sterling). An expensive job after only 3 and a half months. Be warned! Jim Russell wrote: > > I would like to buy a Saab 9000 from a local dealer.
